The most important objective for me was to show the before-and-after effect of the work that ZLUC does. They did not have the capacity in the years after the website was first developed to update it, and so showing all the great work they did was vital.

Following on from the above, this impact showcase would tie into the new online donation system. And although there are many great NPO donor funding systems, none were entirely suitable for South African NPOS, particularly for recurring donations. So, I custom-designed a donation portal, integrating PayFast.

When working with NPOs, you need to consider the sustainability of the systems you build. Often, you can have great ideas, but the organisations lack the ability to use features that require regular attention. Websites, thus, have to be robust and simple to update by future volunteer members.
