The First False Bay Relay Swim
April, 2019
The then newly setup False Bay Swimming Association wanted to document the first relay swim across False Bay in Cape Town.

Personal reflections on the project
What I learnt
Well firstly, that I get sea-sickness. As you can imagine, this was a bit of a drawback considering I had to spend more than seven hours on a rubber-duck boat out in the ocean. Fortunately, in the end it wore off and was able to get enough footage to put something together. So I suppose the lesson is: know your environment before you go.
Be absolutely certain about how to use your gear. I almost flew my drone into the ocean after attempting to fly it from a moving boat with a landing area of one square meter.
Always have enough food and hydration for a full day of shooting.
