It publishes daily articles and a podcast, The Daily Friend Show.

Personal reflections on the project

Top lessons learnt

  • Consistency is so important to building a loyal audience. One of the first production decisions we made was to broadcast live at the same time, Monday to Thursday. This created an expectation and appreciation from loyal followers.

  • Sometimes things just go viral. YouTube channel growth fluctuates and is difficult to anticipate. To the point above, with consistency and show up, you give yourself more opportunity to go viral.

  • Establishing a set production process saves everyone time. Once everyone understood what was needed and who was responsible for what, more focus could be given to creating better content and feeding the content machine.
