Great Bridal Expo

July, 2025

Great Bridal Expo needed to replace their dated WordPress website with a modern, elegant and easy-to-manage one.

They required an integrated ticketing sales system and a clear marketing distinction for B2B vendors and B2C customers.

Personal reflections on the project

  • This was a big project with a relatively hefty bill. To get going without a big upfront cost, we did this website in five, separately billed phases. This worked well as it also allowed the client to see what the new site would look like. Consequently, they were more involved in the process and specific about what they wanted too.

  • The spark for redesigning the site was A/B testing different ticketing systems. Together with the client's Facebook Ads consultant, we tested an Eventbrite integration and WIX's native ticketing app. We were able to do this in the first phase without impacting the site's performance or investing in the more expensive system.

  • When it came to it, migrating the site was a challenge. This was because the original WordPress website's systems had essentially become throttled, and the servers were overloaded. Fortunately, we were able to manage this without losing any traffic or compromising the SEO performance.
