Freedom Advocacy Network

June 2021 - December 2022

FAN was an IRR initiative aimed at making the case for classical liberalism to young audiences online.

FAN produced online content in a variety of engaging forms, namely, simple articles, explainer videos, and podcasts.

Personal reflections on the project

Things I learnt along the way

  • Use whatever tools help you get the job done to meet your deadline. Even though I have experience using Adobe After Effects (animation software), to create a new animated explainer video every single week, I ended up predominately using Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Premiere only for final edits.

  • Trying new things is great but do market research first. At one stage, we tried launching an online store to sell merchandise. We made only a handful of sales, most likely because we didn't to any market research beforehand.

  • Facebook Ads are a great way to test ideas. If you have the budget, use Facebook Ads to A/B test ideas and then dive into campaigns on winning ideas and iterations.
